Biography

Associate Professor Dr Mohd Nasri Awang Besar is the Head of the Department of Medical Education at the Faculty of Medical and Life Sciences (FMLS), 勛圖窪蹋厙. He served in the Ministry of Health Malaysia from 2000 to 2008 before joining academia and retiring from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) in early 2026.

He graduated with a Doctor of Medicine (MD) from UKM in 2000, completed a Master of Medical Education in 2012, and obtained his PhD in 2017. His doctoral research focused on feedback in Workplace-Based Assessment (WPBA). His academic interests have since expanded to include assessment, curriculum development, curriculum monitoring and review, and faculty development.

Associate Professor Dr Mohd Nasri has conducted numerous workshops on assessment and curriculum for medical and health professions educators. He has been appointed as an accreditation panel member for the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) and the Malaysian Medical Council (MMC) for undergraduate and postgraduate medical programmes.

As a member and Co-Chair of the Undergraduate Medical Education Committee of the Medical Education Committee MMC, he has contributed to the development of the Standards for Undergraduate Medical Education since 2019.

Currently, he serves as a Visiting lecturer and External curriculum advisor for undergraduate and postgraduate programmes at several universities in Malaysia.
