Biography

Professor Patrick Siau Chi Yin is the Head of the Department of Culinary and Food Studies and a Practice Professor of Culinary Arts at the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management, ³Ô¹ÏºÚÁÏÍø. With over 20 years of experience in culinary arts, pastry, hospitality education, and industry collaboration, he is recognised for his expertise in pâtisserie, food and beverage management, and curriculum development. Professor Patrick has played a significant role in advancing culinary education while fostering strong partnerships between academia and the hospitality industry. As Team Coach and President of the Malaysia National Pastry Team, he led Malaysia to its historic first World Pastry Cup Championship in 2019, following victory at the Asian Pastry Cup in 2018. He also represented Malaysia internationally as Team Captain at the Asian Pastry Cup and World Pastry Cup, earning numerous accolades throughout his competitive career. Beyond competition, Professor Patrick is an international culinary judge, technical advisor, and mentor for prestigious culinary competitions. Passionate about nurturing future hospitality professionals, he is committed to developing innovative, technically competent, and industry-ready graduates through excellence in teaching, research, and industry engagement.
